HOW TO GET THERE?






By air: The airports are in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau. There are many direct flights from U.S. cities. Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is the largest and most heavily trafficked airport in the state. Alaska Airlines typically offers the most availability for travel to and within Alaska.
From Thailand, you can take a flight and transit at South Korea(or Guangzhao) and Los Angeles to Anchorage, Alaska
By road: You can drive along the 1,500-mile Alaska Highway which officially begins at Dawson Creek, a city in British Columbia
By train: Coastal Classic Train is available from Seward, the southern terminal of the railroad to Anchorage
By sea: Cruising is the most popular way to explore Alaska. Alaska’s Inside Passage is the most popular cruise route in the state. Or you can take Alaska Marine Highway, the state’s ferry system from Bellingham, WA, or Prince Rupert, B.C., or from one of the dozens of Alaska port communities. Ferries offer the flexibility to stop and explore along the way. The ferry system travels from the Inside Passage across the Gulf of Alaska and all the way to the Aleutian Islands.
Most tourists visit Alaska between mid-May and mid-September, when average temperatures range from the 50's to the 70's (or above) and the sun stays out in places above the Arctic Circle for a full 24 hours.
If you're planning to hike a lot, you should visit in August, when the ground is dryer and the bugs aren't at their worst . The popular cruise season starts from the end of April through September.
Winter is the best time to see the Northern Lights or experience Alaska's famous winter festivals such as Yukon Quest sled dog race.
