The Interior Alaska covers most of the U.S. state's territory consisting many mountains: Denali in the Alaska Range, the Wrangell Mountains, and the Ray Mountains and wide expanses of tundra. There are many wildlife and birds ranging such as grizzly bear, caribou and the Willow Ptarmigan. This region is a very good place to experience summer’s midnight sun or the winter’s northern lights. Interior is the original home of Alaska’s Athabascan Indians. Gold miners, farmers and fur trappers later discovered the riches of this region.
